Diabetes Drugs Byetta, Janumet, Januvia and Victoza
Lawsuits are being filed against the pharmaceutical companies who manufacture some of the diabetes drugs, claiming the drug companies failed to warn physicians and patients of significant risks.
The prescription diabetes drugs Byetta®, Janumet®, Januvia®and Victoza® have been linked to serious health problems in some users. All four drugs are meant to improve blood sugar levels in type 2 diabetes patients. The FDA has issued warnings and directives for these drugs several times in the last five years.

Byetta®:
- kidney problems and renal failure
Janumet® , Januvia® and Victoza®:
- problems with the pancreas, including acute pancreatitis, hemorrhagic pancreatitis, and necrotizing pancreatitis
- hemorrhagic and necrotizing pancreatitis may be fatal
